Okay, you may notice something funny about this pic. I asked Todd-Michael to snap the photo for me. It wasn't until I printed it fairly large that I noticed what's wrong with it. Todd focused on the wall behind us, leaving us out of focus!

Minnesota
Renaissance
Festival

The following collection of photos comes from a couple of weekends during the 2001 run of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

These photos were taken with a Nikon N70 SLR camera, with a Sigma 28-300mm lense and Agfa 50 slide or Fuji 400 film. The negatives/slides were then scanned with a Minolta Dimage film scanner.

I should mention that I've toned down the quality of my original scans for the sake of size and download time. I also didn't always take the time to fix all of the nicks that inevitably appear when scanning negatives. If you are interested in obtaining a higher resolution copy of any of these photos, please drop me an email [ferretATwasteDOTorg] and I'll do what I can for you.

I began my first year as a participant after graduating from the 1995 Academy Class. During, the first three years I held an entertainment contract as well as working the Front Gate. Even though I'm usually clad in Scottish Nobility (read "Nancy Boy") garb, I'M NOT SCOTTISH! I just went to a Scottish college, and it kind of stuck. My third year [1997] I had the great fortune of being a part of the City Militia, but then I moved to Boston in the fall of 1998. (Initially my plan had been to return each Labor Day weekend until everyone I wanted to visit had given up the Festival Life. The only problem was that every year I visited, I met new folks that I really looked forward to seeing again the next year.) Late in the summer of 2001, I moved back to the Twin Cities, and when I visited during first weekend, I had a contract before I got past the gate. ("I don't know what happened. Todd talked fancy to me and suddenly my name was on a contract!")
