1955 Vespa VL1 150

This model is historically significant because it was the first Vespa ever sold in the USA
under the Vespa brand. Previously Vespas were only sold by Sears under the Allstate name.

-Restored in 1998-99
-Nearly all parts used in restoration were NOS
-All hardware was replated with original coatings, including Parkerizing and Cad plating
-Painted the original color using single-stage paint

The tires are NOS 1950s Avon whitewalls. They were wrapped in paper and dipped in cosmoline!

 

 

The hubcap on the spare tire is actually a spare gas tank, a rare period accessory.
