About the Cards
The Egyptian card back design is a digitized papyrus image from
the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Cool, huh?
- All card elements are hand designed and antialiased, with all
elements symmetrically aligned and centered. Microsoft games such as
Windows Solitaire, on the other hand, use the system font, are not
antialiased, and are not even symmetrical, let alone evenly spaced.
The current version of the card pack lets you automatically reassemble
the card elements into card images and runs of cards using Perl and
PNM-tools. Thus you can tweak them to your liking.
The card corners have been antialiased for a gray background and made
transparent. All are 16 color and interlaced for fastest display and best
appearance on low-res displays.
You don't even want to know how much time I spent on them.
These card images and the programs that build them are covered under the GPL!
You can download the card images and the elements and code used to assemble
them from here.
