Side Projects

Below are links to the pages I have created towards Ministry's main sideprojects.

Don't forget, I have the lyrics to most of these albums!

Even though this is just a Ministry page, I have almost all other releases and and wanted to share 'em.

Most of the groups do not exist anymore, or haven't released anything in a while.
Having said that, I have almost every release detailed in the pages and it didn't cost a hefty price.

I scanned all the covers myself, and so I ask, please don't steal...

Remember, "other" small info. on the sideprojects can be found in the FAQ.

Below the links is some other stuff about Ministry...

Other Interesting Stuff

Skinny Puppy

Al Jourgensen produced Rabies, an LP released by Skinny Puppy in 1989.
Al and Ogre became very good friends but their friendship over the couple of years declined.
They initiated WELT which now consists of
Ogre and Mark Walk and stuff is gonna be released from them real soon.

If you are gonna go out and buy Rabies, be warned: there are two versions:
The latest one from Nettwerk Records is the Remastered version.
There are no difference in the tracks, but the quality is just way better.

The way to tell which is your release:

If your CD has the tracklisting on the actual CD, you have the older version.
If your CD has a clear plastic CD holder case, you have the new version.
If your CD is released by Nettwerk/Capitol, you have the old version.
If your CD is released by just Nettwerk you have the new version.
If your CD's serial # is "CDF7930072", this is the old one.

Nivek Ogre (vocalist) also toured with Ministry and can be seen on the
In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up Video.
He's seen wearing the Fuck Art, Let's Kill shirt (the famous Chemlab one).

Nine Inch Nails

Al is credited for helping on Get Down Make Love, which is a cover of the Queen classic.
This song can be found on NIN's Sin single (both domestic and import).

Chris Connelly

He's got his own solo stuff. It's best to visit his homepage.
As far as Ministry, He helped on Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste,
Land Of Rape And Honey, and Psalm 69.

He has many, many releases of his own but it doesn't sound anything like Ministry.
His releases are also on Wax Trax!
He is seen on the In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up Video singing So What.

The Reverend Horton Heat

Al produced their album, Liquor In The Front, Poker In The Rear.
He also played pedal, steel, piano and did some backup vocals.

Interestingly enough, he was introduced to the group by Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers)
who also did vocals to Jesus Built My Hotrod.

Gravity Kills

Al remixed the Gravity Kills track Manipulation from the Manipulation EP.

Special Affect

A punk/new wave band that Al was in prior to Ministry.
He, and Groovie Mann (My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult) both released the albums:
Mood Music, Headache and Empty Handed

Both Al and Groovie Man went to the same college, University of Chicago.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Al remixed Give It Away (the single mix, 12" mix and the All-powerful Rasta mix)
Check out the FAQ for the info. on the Chicken Shit Mix! Funny...

Anthrax

Ministry remixed Potters' Field which is featured on the Black Lodge single.
Both tracks are originally on the Sound Of White Noise album.
The single itself is the German import

The Blackouts

This is how Al met Paul Barker, Roland Barker and William Rieflin
All of whom have helped out in the Ministry camp in a big way.

Al produced their early albums (when they were on Wax Trax Records).

BloHole

The ex-guitarist from Ministry, Mike Scaccia's thrash metal band.

Members:
Casey Orr - Bass, Vocals
Mike Scaccia - All Guitars
Mike Dunn - Drums

Albums:
Leave It To BloHole

Pigface

Al never took part in this band but Pigface started out as a Ministry cover band!

I spoke to the founder of Pigface Martin Atkins recently and asked him what his status is with Al.
He replied "That junkie? How can you keep friendship with heroin junkies"?
Oh well...

Martin Atkins can be seen on the In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up (Live) video.
He's the drummer with the long, blonde frizzy hair wearing a striped shirt.

He now runs Invisible Records in Chicago, and Pigface goes on...
